Nigel Barlow, Journalist & Author approached Gorilla to develop a new brand & website to report and chronicle the vibrant past present and future of Manchester.
Gorilla developed a restrained logotype that could accommodate future extensions of the ‘About’ brand. It was important that ‘About Edinburgh’ for example looked just as visually pleasing as ‘About Manchester’. We chose a vibrant colour scheme to set the brand apart in crowded online market place.
Over time the site will become a virtual encyclopedia for all things Manchester so simple navigation was essential. End users can easily search for any topic they require and the author is able to sort articles into appropriate categories with the click of a button. The author does a lot of his writing on the go so we ensured articles could easily be edited and posted on to the site on any device whether it be PC, tablet or smart phone. With online visits from mobile devices ever increasing Gorilla ensured that the site intelligently formats itself to be highly readable even on tiny screens.
